Schi. My mom cooks it in the tastiest way. Actually it is a special vegetable soup. In order to make it we need popatoes, cabbage, carrot, onion, tomatoes (or tomato-paste) and green shimla mirch. Peel potatoes and boil them in a pan until it is soft. Then smash them into small pieces directly in the pan. Add thinny sliced cabbage and shimla mirch and then start to prepare "masala". Put some sunflower oil (just a little) in a griddle, cut onion in small cubes and fry it in the oil stirring. After some 5 minutes, when onion becomes golden, add grated carrot. Keep frying and stirring. Then add sliced tomatoes (or tomato paste). When masala is ready (oil is red) put it into the pan, add some salt, pepper, bay leaf and some cutted dill. After some 3 minutes your Schi is ready. You can take it hot or cold. The more it stays - the tastier it becomes! (For 2 liters of water: 3 potatoes, 1/2 small head of cabbage, 1 shimla mirch, 1 middle size onion, 1 middle size carrot).
